7 Day Devotional for the Olympian Woman

christian devotional ebook

“The Olympian Woman inspired and lifted me up! It has valuable tools for everyday survival.”
Gail Graves

7 Quiet Time Reflections for the Olympian Woman is an inspirational devotional for very active women. Principles of strength, balance, endurance, flexibility, nutrition, rest and recovery are introduced with short stories and scriptural reflections.

If you are a woman who has decided to put her mind to DOING something (a goal) and work hard toward it you are an Olympian Woman.

It has nothing to do with your age, money, race or education. But it does have something to do with living life on a daily basis with a Christ-directed purpose.

  • If you are a mother-you have purpose.

  • If you are a wife-you have purpose.

  • If you are an employee with a demanding job-you have purpose.

  • If you are in college trying get an education-you have purpose.

  • If you are a young adult just breaking away from your teen years and embarking on this new adult territory-you have purpose.

  • If you are a sister to someone who depends on you to be there for them-you have purpose.

  • If you are working with other peoples children-you have purpose.

  • If you teach, anyone, anything-you have purpose.

  • If you work with the sick and shut in-you have purpose.

  • If you work with ministries at church-you have purpose.

  • Because the Creator gave you life-you have purpose.

Any combination of the above can make a dynamite cake. But sometimes a spice called “stress”, and a seasoning called “strain” gets into the batter. When you take that spoon and whip it with a determination to succeed, regardless of the mixture, you have an Olympian Woman.

In the race of life many of you Olympian Women are overcome by demanding jobs, stress-filled homes, and the pressures associated with daily life. So you can fall victim to weariness and regardless of your age, you can stumble and fall because you are not invincible.

It is true that some of us are sprinters in this race called life. We must run a short distance quickly in order to win. Others are marathon runners-enduring a long stretch. Yet regardless of the race it is important that we do not quit!
This seven day devotional uses the verses of Isaiah 40:29-31 and Psalm 23:1-3 to help you train to meet the emotional and spiritual weariness that comes from being an Olympian Woman.

I am going to share a seven-point training method for an Olympian Woman that can put all of us in good shape. The points are:

Strength

  • Balance

  • Endurance

  • Flexibility

  • Nutrition

  • Rest

  • and Recovery.

These are the basic training principals for men and women who are in any sport and want to do their very best.

So, be encouraged, my sister, remember Philippians 3:13, 14 that says,“ …forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the heavenly call of God in Christ Jesus.”
